Dr. Kappes, known affectionately by her patients as “Dr. K,” is a proud Nevada native, originally from Elko. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University and went on to complete a residency in Ocular Disease and Refractive Surgery at Eye Care Associates of Nevada.
Dr. Kappes is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a dedicated member of the Nevada Optometric Association. She is certified in the Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease and earned her Nevada Glaucoma Certification in 2019.
She provides full-scope optometric care, including comprehensive eye exams, glaucoma management, pediatric eye care, and specialty contact lens fittings. She has a particular passion for the diagnosis and treatment of dry eye disease and is committed to helping her patients find lasting relief.
Outside of the office, Dr. Kappes enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and baby boy, embracing all that Nevada’s natural beauty has to offer.
Please note that on the first Friday of every month, our office will open at 10 AM to allow time for staff training.
