The cost of routine eye exams and prescription eyewear can be of real concern, especially for large families. In many cases, vision insurance can lower these annual expenses.

A vision insurance policy is not the same as medical insurance. Some insurance plans separate eye health care from routine vision benefits like glasses and contacts. Because of this, we may accept your medical insurance but not be in-network with your vision plan.
If you have an eye health condition that needs ongoing care, we are often still able to monitor and manage your eye health using your medical insurance.
A refraction is the part of the exam where we determine your glasses prescription (the “which is clearer, one or two?” test). This is considered a routine vision service, not typically covered by medical insurances.
When care is provided for medical reasons and your vision plan is out of network, we are still happy to perform a refraction, or other vision services, at the same exam, though there may be additional fees.
If you would like to sign up for a Vision Service Plan (VSP) routine eye care plan for yourself, do so here.
